Daria Swierzewska (Art Teacher)
Some of Daria’s earliest and happiest memories are linked to visual art. She has always loved making art and believes that the encouragement and attention she received as a child in her creative efforts has helped her retain some of that early magic and build upon it in her adulthood.
Daria’s current love is developing and teaching the Visual Arts program for all the age groups at the B.E.N. She believes that the skills and knowledge gained through active participation in art making are essential to helping children form a strong foundation into self-identity and hopes to pass on some of that ‘magic‘ she once received through enjoyable, age relevant and success oriented activities.
Daria began working with children at a young age, as an assistant at a Children’s Development Centre and continued to gain practical experience and knowledge as an instructor at an arts and crafts centre and a nanny; having the privilege of working with and learning from many dynamic teachers and mentors along the way. While studying at The Ontario College of Art and Design, Daria met the Acorn and became inspired by the unique approach to learning practiced there, eventually joining the teaching team. She continued on studying and training with the G.E.T. curriculum.
Daria has also worked as an illustrator for various child oriented projects. She is a mother of a young boy who is an endless source of ideas and inspiration.
